Joblin Partners is recruiting for an Open Cut Examiner (OCE) on behalf of a leading mining operation in New South Wales. This permanent, full-time role offers great opportunities for career growth and long-term security at a dynamic, owner-operated mine.
About the Role
The OCE will rotate between statutory and production supervisor duties on a 5/4 lifestyle roster, overseeing safe and efficient mining operations. You will manage mining crews, oversee equipment performance, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Your day will start with a shift handover at 6 am/pm, and you will work 12.5-hour shifts. Equipment includes draglines, excavators, trucks, and auxiliary machinery, with a strong focus on asset utilization and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety and statutory regulations,
- Supervise crews and mentor junior supervisors,
- Manage production, equipment performance, and daily operational plans,
- Respond to emergencies and manage incidents on shift.
Requirements:
- Current OCE practicing certificate,
- Experience in open cut mining with a proven focus on safety leadership,
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure.
