The Role
As an Engineering Superintendent of Shutdowns, you will oversee the planning and execution of major shovel and dragline shutdowns. You’ll collaborate with contractors, internal teams, and direct reports to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. This role provides exposure to high-stakes projects within a dynamic mining environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of shovel and dragline shutdowns, from planning to execution.
- Manage diverse teams, including Maintenance Coordinators, Supervisors, QA/QC Officers, and contractor supervisors.
- Work alongside top-tier contractors such as Monadelphous, Kaefer, FMS, and M2E.
- Operate within a robust project cycle, ensuring consistent quality and timely completion of shutdowns.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Teritary Engineering Degree (Mech or Elec preferred),
- Strong knowledge of RCA modelling and engineering processes,
- Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver large-scale, high-value shutdowns,
- Fixed-plant, processing or field shutdown experience (doesn’t have to be mining, can be O&G, or industrial),
- Willingness to work on site during shutdown periods (to manage the projects themselves).

Work Schedule

- Complies with a maximum of 242 working hours over a 4-week period.
