We are seeking an experienced and qualified Open Cut Examiner (OCE) for an open cut coal mine in the Bowen Basin. This role is essential to ensuring the safety and compliance of day-to-day mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing activities, conducting inspections, and ensuring that all safety protocols and legislative requirements are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of the mine site to ensure safety standards are met,
- Monitor mining operations, including haulage, drilling, and blasting activities,
- Identify and manage hazards and ensure compliance with relevant safety and environmental standards,
- Communicate effectively with the site management team and workers to ensure safe practices,
- Provide clear and concise reports and documentation as required.
Requirements:
- Current Open Cut Examiner (OCE) certification in Queensland,
- Proven experience in a similar OCE role within the coal mining industry,
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, and relevant mining legislation,
- Excellent communication and leadership skills,
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage safety-critical situations.
